Slow to Anger

Proverbs 15:1
"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."

When life doesn’t always go as planned, we feel a sea of emotions. A lot of the time one of the main emotions we feel is anger. It’s difficult for us to understand why we are on a certain path. We try to blame God and we become very angry with Him. When you don’t understand how your life ended up the way it is, it’s easy to find someone to blame, and since God is our maker, we almost always find a way to point the finger at Him. James 1:19-20 says, “My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.” This verse clearly shows that God does not want us to be angry. God desires for us to be righteous despite how we feel.
When we become angry, we sometimes want to act irrationally, which can lead to disastrous consequences. Ephesians 4:26-27 says, “In your anger do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.” We should not be quick to anger because God is ready for you to release your anger and frustration so you can find your true path.
Instead of being angry towards God, we should be praying for him to help the situation, whatever it may be. For some people, its loss of a loved one. It can also be being unhappy with a job or family members. Teen mothers may also experience anger towards God. No mother ever wishes that she didn’t have her child. But most mothers question whether it was the right time for them. This is natural and happens to almost everyone.
Being a teen mother can be difficult. At Grow in Grace, we want to help answer all your questions you may have while taking you step by step through your motherhood process.  If you feel angry with your situation or do not understand why you are on the path you are at in your life, we want to help you as much as we can. Understanding what God has in store for you is the perfect way to see the bigger picture for your life.
