Trusting the Lord

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways know him, and he will make your paths straight." Being an adolescent mother can tear at the strands of trust you have with relationships and family members, and when you aren’t getting any support from them, it’s hard to know what you are doing is right. You must make so many decisions about things you may not fully understand or have never thought of until you are faced with it. Trusting the Lord can be the last thing on your mind, but it’s something that is very important. A lot of the time when we put trust in other people it fails, but when we put trust in God, it will NEVER fail. Psalm 37:3-6 says, “Trust in the Lord and do what is good; dwell in the land and live securely. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act, making your righteousness shine like the dawn

Romans 3:22-24 “The righteousness of God is through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe, since there is no distinction. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. They are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” Why is grace important? Because it sets us free. Free of the weight of our sins on our shoulders. Free of the burden we feel carrying it around in our hearts day after day. Grace allows us to have a clean slate with God and start over. So many people choose to judge another’s sin before they deal with theirs. Imagine how many people we could reach if everyone stopped judging sin, because ultimately God is the judge.   The way people tend to judge sin is on a scale. It kind of goes from the worst sin you can commit to sins everyone commits, like murder and suicide at the top, and cursing and sexual sin at the bottom. It helps us to feel better about ourselves because we think someone else’s sin is worse tha
